ISO 9001 – 2000 This year Endoscopy Replacement Parts Inc., is pursuing ISO 9001-2000 registration. We expect we will be ISO Registered by year-end 2008. We are pursuing this registration as a demonstration of our commitment to quality and continual improvement. ISO (The International Organization of Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from over 120 countries. Its mission is to promote the development of process standardization throughout the world with a view toward facilitating the international exchange of goods and services. Since its introduction in 1987 the ISO 9000 standard has had a growing impact on international trade and is considered the common language of quality. The purpose of which is to increase the confidence of customers in the quality systems of their suppliers. It provides requirements against which a customer can evaluate the adequacy of a supplier’s quality system. Readiness Assessment
In the 4th quarter of 2008, an independent contractor will conduct a Readiness Assessment of the Quality Management System (QMS). The assessment will involve reviewing ERPI’s existing ISO documentation to determine conformance to the ISO 9001-2000. The assessment will also involve interviewing ERPI employees. The documentation review will determine whether major nonconformance's exist that need to be corrected prior to the Certification Audit. The interviews will provide employees with experience in being audited by a group of external auditors. If the Readiness Assessment findings are minor, ERPI plans to pursue ISO 9001-2000 certification based on a Pre-Certification Audit in the third quarter of 2008, and the Certification Audit in the last quarter of 2008.
